News

As of this April, I'm looking forward to taking my 7.5 years of experience directing an education program and skills in creating and managing an institution's online presence to a new level. My enthusiasm, commitment, creativity, and desire to collaborate are my strongest assets. If you're looking for a candidate like me, I look forward to hearing from you!

Bio

Art Museum Educator
Lancaster, PA

As the first full-time Museum Educator at the Schwenkfelder Library & Heritage Center, Rebecca Lawrence developed a program that engages visitors of all ages including Family and Homeschool workshops, a brown bag lecture series, supplemental exhibition materials, and biannual K-12 student art exhibitions. In addition to diversifying its museum education program offerings, she launched the Heritage Center's online presence on Facebook, Twitter, and the blogosphere.

Rebecca holds a BFA from Kutztown University (2004) and completed graduate courses in art education. Her background as a fine artist supports her creative and enthusiastic approach to visitor engagement and learning which is also reflected in her passionate interest in education and technology in the small museum environment.

Rebecca has led sessions and workshops on object based learning, homeschool audiences, and social media at the annual conferences of the American Association of State and Local History, the National Art Education Association, the PA Museums (formerly the PA Federation of Museums and Historic Organizations), and the Small Museum Association.
